Monkey Business from Yeri Coffee is a standout specialty coffee that impresses in every brew method I tried — French press, Aero Press and my personal favorite - Chemex. As a pour-over, it’s bright and lively, with a delicate acidity that balances perfectly with notes of juicy berries and caramel. The clarity is exceptional, offering a clean cup that highlights the bean’s complexity. The idea of doing a pour over is about mindfulness as the coffee brews, and what I look for is how the aromas settle in the room as you pour the water slowly, and if your palatte as you drink the coffee can taste what your nose had hinted you of, and that part was a perfect hit for me. Not just the aroma, but the taste that outperforms it. In a French press, it transforms beautifully into a richer, more comforting cup. Surprisingly I did not need any milk, as the body is silky and full, with notes of dark chocolate and roasted nuts, rounded by a touch of natural sweetness that lingers pleasantly. As an espresso ( tried in an aeropress ), Monkey Business truly shines. It pulls a shot with an excellent creaminess to which there is along with a deep, syrupy texture. The flavor is rich yet balanced, revealing layers of dark fruit, honey, and a hint of spice. Overall, Monkey Business is a versatile, expertly roasted coffee that adapts beautifully to different brewing styles.
