Senior Accountant, Finance & Operations

As we continue to scale, we're looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant, Finance & Operations to help build and manage the financial foundation of the business. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who wants to move beyond traditional bookkeeping and gain exposure to operational finance, systems building, and startup operations while working directly alongside the Founder, fractional CFO, and leadership team.
The Senior Accountant, Finance & Operations will own the day-to-day accounting operations of the business while supporting key finance and operational initiatives. This person will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing the monthly close process, overseeing cash management, supporting investor reporting, and helping improve the systems and processes that enable the business to scale.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and excited about building processes in a fast-growing startup environment.
Success in this role looks like accurate and timely monthly closes, strong visibility into company cash flow and financial performance, reliable and organized financial reporting, improved finance processes and operational efficiency, and scalable systems that support the company's growth.
What You'll Do
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities
- Maintain accurate general ledger and financial records
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Lead month-end close processes
- Support payroll administration and reconciliation
- Manage sales tax filings and compliance requirements
- Coordinate with external accountants and tax advisors
- Ensure financial records are accurate, organized, and audit-ready
Finance Operations
- Monitor and manage company cash flow
- Maintain cash forecasting and payment schedules
- Reconcile marketplace transactions, payouts, and vendor settlements
- Track vendor obligations and payment timing
- Support operational reporting and financial data accuracy
- Assist with financial process improvements and workflow automation
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency across finance functions
Founder & Investor Support
- Support preparation of board and investor reporting materials
- Assist with financial data requests and due diligence materials
- Prepare recurring management reports and financial summaries
- Support special projects related to company growth and operations
- Partner closely with the Founder and fractional CFO on finance and operational initiatives
Systems & Process Development
- Help build scalable accounting and finance processes
- Improve documentation and internal controls
- Assist in implementing new systems and automation tools
- Create reporting workflows that improve visibility across the business
- Support continuous improvement of financial operations
What We're Looking For
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience managing month-end close and reconciliations
- Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with eCommerce, marketplace, retail, or consumer goods businesses
- Familiarity with Shopify and online commerce platforms
- Experience working with QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, or similar systems
- Experience supporting operational finance functions
- Interest in growing into a broader finance leadership role over time
Compensation & Growth
$65,000 + equity.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with company leadership and gain exposure to operational finance, investor reporting, and business operations. As Bubble Goods continues to grow, this position has the potential to evolve into a Finance Manager or Controller role.
